The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) International Cat Show took place at the Portland Expo Center on November 18 and 19. The show, presented by Royal Canin attracted not only a wide range and variety of cats for competition but cat enthusiasts from all over the world. With over 41 breeds, countless vendors, and an entertaining agility area and education ring there was something for every cat lover in attendance.
I thought I was a cat lover but I don’t think I realized how little I knew about cats before attending the CFA International Cat Show. I was able to learn so much in depth information on different breeds and saw people of all ages enjoying petting cats and talking to their owners. Royal Canin provided a main stage for educational and descriptive judging and free photo session for registered cats. It was a welcoming and forgiving atmosphere for cat fans of every knowledge level and cat owners were approachable and enthusiastic in educating cat lovers and sharing stories about themselves.
If you missed the CFA International Cat Show there’s another chance for cat lovers at the Lewis & Clark Cat Show at the Lloyd Center Doubletree in Portland. The show will take place on December 2 and 3 between 9am – 4pm. Admission is 5$ and children under 5 are free.
