Millions of people from all over the world will be heading to Oregon to be the first to view the total solar eclipse of the Sun. Those that are science enthusiasts have already grabbed their tickets to the sold out Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Party. This even will take place at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem, Oregon on August 21, 2017 from 6:00am to 12:00pm.

The OMSI Solar Eclipse Viewing Party will include not only a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses but a morning filled with science lectures, astronomy-related community groups, entertainment, and more. There are a number of subject matter experts that will be speaking at the party including: Don Petitt (Astronaut), Jim Brau (Professor of Natural Science in the Center for High Energy Physics), Jim Todd (Director of Space Science Education), and Andrea Edgecombe (OMSI Director of Events).
